What fad diets and dead marriages have in common
The Greg Method
People love to look for that magic fix for their problems.
Take my friend Greg.
Last month, he went all in on some trendy diet he found on TikTok. Meal prep. Strict rules. Zero cheats.
For 30 days, he acted like he was headed to the Olympics. Dropped some weight.
Wouldn’t shut up about it.
Then he quit.
Two weeks later, he was eating pizza bigger than his head and whining about how he felt worse than before.
I looked at him and said, “Why bother? You just erased everything with a box of donuts.”
He just shrugged. “I wanted fast results.”
Sound familiar?
Switch food for your marriage, and most guys do the same thing.
You try a compliment. Schedule a “spontaneous” date night you found on Instagram. Say the exact words that some influencer with a beard told you to say (while secretly fishing for reassurance).
She doesn’t melt. She doesn’t thank you. She barely looks up.
So you toss the idea and boom you’re back to square one- silence, resentment, and that dull ache in your chest again while blaming the wife for not cooperating
It’s the Greg method.
Try hard for a week. Get discouraged. Crash even harder.
And here's the kicker:
This happens whether she’s living in the same house or halfway across town.
You might be sleeping next to her or sleeping on the edge of her last nerve.
Doesn’t matter. She can still tell when you’re performing versus when you actually mean it.
And what do you have to show for it?
A breadcrumb trail of failed attempts, broken momentum, and a wife who trusts you less now than she did before.
Because at this point?
She’s not waiting for the right move. She’s watching to see if any of this is real.
If you mean it. If you’ll stick.
If this is just another emotional fad or the actual man she could feel safe with again
So ask yourself this:
Are you rebuilding your marriage? Or just collecting strategies?
If you’re done chasing gimmicks and ready to actually get your marriage right
Reply “no fluff” and I’ll send you what works.
No magic. No hacks. Just the real work, done the right way.
Until next time,
Klaudia
